The Van Sereno Trio, comprising of Rosie Henshaw and Byron Mark complete a one week residency at Kosciusko Chalet, Charlottes Pass. Receiving much approval from the Chalet guests, selling a few cds and gaining more fans to add to their mailing list and myspace following, they were regarded as the best band yet for the season by the jolly staff and management... And thankfully by the snowboard lessons attended, the snowy mountains village did not have to put up with Vans many falls and accidents too much on the slopes.

Van Sereno and Byron Mark went in to Damien Gerard Studios today, with Russel Pilling at the mixing desk, to record a brand new album in the one session sitting. Leaving it very raw, this new batch of twelve songs tracks van on vocals/guitar and byron on percussion/keys deeming it as Vans first acoustic live album recording. Titling it "another way", it will not be released till later this year.

At long last Van Sereno has been played, for the first time ever, on a commercial radio station! big thanks to the "roots and all" show on Triple J, for playing 'persistence' on tuesday 6th march, and 'little bonsai' on thursday 8th march.

The 'Persistence' album launch, march 6th at the vanguard, was a huge success! 94.5fbiFM carts and live interview (on alisons 'chalk it up'
monday arvos), a feature article on page2 of Mix, and a quarter page drum media add all helped fill the room to capacity. All three acts played tight sets much to the pleasure of the appreciative audience (many of whom were friends and family). Vans band was comprised of Van Sereno (vocals/guitar) Byron Mark (keys/percussion), Rosie Henshaw (backing vocals/percussion), Ross Ferraro (drums) and straight off the plane from Trinidad and New York, Jarrol Renaud (bass). Mike and wendy of 'redeeming features' videotaped the performance whilst Warren of 'overexposed photography' took photographs of the night.

Van is taking some time off the live circuit to concentrate on writing new material for the next album. With intent to stay true to the art of songwriting, he has decided to stay with a raw acoustic sound and make the new tracks lyrics driven rather than the production. Sonicly he wants to keep it simple so as not to detract from the purity of the song. He's been getting good feedback from supporters that bought the first album and is adamant to make this project a bigger and better one at that.
